FeedTwit is a free app that can send your @ replies to you as text messages. Just follow Feedtwit from your twitter account and then login at http://feedtwit.com with the supplied password and tell it what messages you want to receive. Easy, simple, and free.

Thanks - Jaiku doesn't seem to be working for me either now, although the SMS gateway does. Let me know if you come across a solution.

Tried the jaiku approach, it's a no-go. Webfeeds simply don't update, no matter if I aggregate twitter through yahoo pipe or feedburner. It accepts the feed, it just doesn't update it. It's been a day now and still no update on the feed, so I'm assuming it's broken.

Problem iwth other services is that I'm neither in the US (in which case I wouldn't have an issue with twitter SMS anyway) nor am I in the UK. Doesn't seem to be free sms email gateway in my lousy country.

OR you could try www.twitsms.com.au and www.twitsms.co.uk designed to allow Twitter fans to get their SMS again! Users can choose who they want to get Tweets from, and pay per SMS. From 7pence in the UK and 11cents in Australia you can stay connected for a few dollars/week or month (depending on how many mates you have!) :)
Try our site and let us know what you think. Thanks!
