Interesting post! Coverage of local high school sports has definitely become a victim of the downsizing and closure of daily newspapers. But the demand is still there. Parents, players, coaches and fans still want to know what's going on with their high school teams. Our company launched in Aug. 2009 to address this need by creating a CMS for local online high school sports websites that would be operated by individuals interested in launching their own sports sites. The platform provides news, game schedule, results and stats capability for 9 different sports -- football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, swimming/diving, baseball, softball and track & field. We started a pilot site in August covering 35 high schools in two counties in Ohio -- SportsInk.com.
