While some news organisations take down paywalls and others help sort hoax images from the genuine article, what role should ‘common carriers’ like Instagram play? Any at all?
In my post on media and the storm, I highlighted Time Magazine’s Instagram feed as a positive tool. Though I do agree filters are absolutely misleading, using a mobile app to tell visual stories across the region is powerful. http://thejojoupdate.wordpress.com/2012/10/30/the-best-new-media-coverage-of-hurricane-sandy/
